Following the announcement of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo clarified to outlet GNN that the game is being developed 100% in-house.
This comment was made because the trailer made plenty of fans think that this didn’t look like Falcom’s typical work, so there was some theory-crafting that the title was outsourced.
Thanks to Automaton Media for sharing this news.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st will be released for Nintendo Switch in 2025. This will be a remake of Trails in the Sky FC. Currently, only a Switch release is confirmed.
The official website states that striking an enemy on the field will trigger a command battle, which seemed to outright confirm that action combat would not be present, as in Trails through Daybreak, since action combat is not mentioned.
However, a Famitsu leak has stated that action combat is indeed present like Daybreak, so the official website for the game may just not be updated and be somewhat misleading. We’ll keep you updated once Falcom comments on this matter.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the first arc of the still ongoing Trails series by developer Nihon Falcom. Taking place on the continent of Zemuria in the region of Liberl, protagonist Estelle Bright and her adopted brother Joshua Bright begin a journey to become fully-fledged Bracers, an occupation for helping the citizenry.
This trilogy is available on PC in the West, though enhanced ports, titled Evolution, were launched in Asia, which feature bonus content and voice acting.
